Elizabeth (born Anna DeWitt) is from the game Bioshock infinite. She has the power to manipulate tears that exist in the fabric of time.
Meaning she can open portals between realities. She lost part of the pinky as a baby when she was brought through such a portal.
The story is complicated, but due to a delay, part of her hand was still in the portal when it closed, causing her pinky to be severed.
The pinky is in fact an important part of the story. There are few game characters who has such depth and a loving quality to their
personalities as she has. 2K Games who developed the game are good writers.
