The problem isn't Linux support for games but game engine support for Linux -- developers could easily use the tools available to them to make their software cross platform, but instead they choose to contort themselves into a misshapen box labelled MS Windows and close the lid. WINE is useful but it won't solve the problem of idiosyncratic monoculture coders!
Serif is a software company that has been doing this for years with reasonably priced, excellent (non games) applications, but whenever someone suggests they go cross platform they stick their digits in their ears and sing loud and off key!
Mods: I apologise if this seems OT [cross fingers]and I promise I won't do it again! Honest![/cross fingers]
Edit: Oh dear! It seems when I foul up I do it right royally -- thanks for the reprimand, skelaturi! Please accept my humble apologies kakarilll, Chessy, igame and d.e.vane -- WELCOME!
