Visual Novels

Postby Lotex » Mon, 12Jan30 21:48

Greetings Sharkanians,

i got in touch with some visual novel games since some weeks and i started to like these kind of games, as a welcome alternation to some other games that i like to play (like splinter cell, hitman and so on...)
Until now, i played kana - little sister, hitomi - stepsister, katawa shoujo, crescendo and private nurse and now i'd like to have some other suggestions for some good games of that kind.
basically, i'm looking for some nice little love stories, i'm not really into that sadistical stuff like rape, dominance stuff and so on - i'd like to have other examples like katawa shoujo, which was the best so far i guess.

i'd really appreciate any suggestions you could give me

thanks in advance for every tip you could give me

thanks for the link, but that's not really what i was hoping.

i already used google to search for some games and i already found a forum with a list of many translated games, but actually i was looking for a little personal suggestion, like telling me the title and maybe two or three senteces about the game, i'll do the rest myself.

some people might say that i'm just too lazy to look this stuff up myself, but i think that's what the forum is for: exchange experiences, suggest good stuff to other people and things like that

You can try "Do you like horny bunnies" 1 and/or 2 , it's not great games but it's nice and still very sexy but never rough.

The sagara family is a good eroge, a must-have for someones, it can be nice or more rough depending on the route you take.

thanks, i'll try them both.

sex in these games is ok, but not really that necessary for me.
a developing love story with some drama is much better than a "let's fuck all the time" story.
you could say i'm looking for games similar to katawa shoujo, the only problem is that not everybody knows this game :D

Alright then i would suggest you try Utawarerumono it has a good story some sex and is a SRPG

Story:
A man wakes up wounded in a small village of animal-people, where he is being nursed back to health by a girl, Eruruu, and her family. However, he cannot remember anything of his past: how he came to be wounded in the forest, his own name, or why or how a mysterious mask came to be attached to his face, unable to be removed. Eruruu's grandmother gives him a name -- Hakuoro -- and he is invited to stay at the village.
In debt to these people, and with nowhere else to go having no memories, Hakuoro stays with the village and helps the people, bringing harvest to their barren fields. However, the land is being brought into war, and the feudal lord hears of these rumors and starts collecting their food as a tax. Hakuoro then finds himself entwined with these people and the uprising of a revolt army, all while wondering just who he really is.

A classic sexy VN is Three Sisters' Story. Here's the vndb teaser.
I was just a boy when my father threw himself under the tracks of an oncoming train on the Yamanote Line in Tokyo. He had been the president of a powerful trading company, but had been under siege by an enemy in a power struggle that I didn't understand at the time. With my father gone, it fell upon my mother to lead the family and try to pay off Father's debts. She wasn't up to the task, and was buried next to my father less than a year later. My older brother Eiichi and I were separated, then, passed around the family like unwanted guests. We had lost everything.

Last summer Eiichi appeared again on my doorstep. He had prospered in the years since I'd seen him, and had built a successful trading company. "Koichi," he said to me, "I found out who was responsible for our father's death: the current head of father's old company, Shoji Okamura."

When he asked me, "Will you help me avenge mother and father?" I agreed immediately.

So I became his hatchet man. My job was to approach the Okamura family, especially the three Okamura sisters -- sexy, grown-up Yuki, short-tempered but sensitive Emi and the innocent Risa -- and gather information on the Okamuras for my brother. After six months, I had gotten to where I was eating dinner at their house regularly. This allowed me to bug Shoji's office take documents out of his trash, and copy files off his computer. I reported everything to my brother faithfully.

I was never sure if the information I was providing was doing any good, but gradually, it became apparent that Shoji Okamura's business was failing. He grew more and more desperate, and one day he disappeared completely. The happiness of the Okamura family, who had taken so much from us, had been stolen piece by piece. My brother swore he wouldn't stop until Shoji Okamura was driven to the point of taking his own life, even if it meant pushing the Three Sisters into lives of prostitution and worse.

The only problem is, I had fallen in love with those same three sisters...

And that's where the story REALLY starts to get interesting.

Playing time is about 20 hours.

Snow Drop, Nocturnal Illusions, Three Sisters, Tokimeki Check-in, Sagara Family, virgin roster, secret wives club, Snow Sakura.

well thank you for your suggestion, i took a look at it and it seemed to pretty good, but well...i'm not capable of reading japanese, so it might be a little hard to really enjoy g-senjou no maou
is there an english version of this game?

edit: my bad, it looks like it was way to obvious to just look for an english patch :D

well well, some time has passed since i opened this topic and i just finished kanon (beside some/many other games of that kind) and i can say for myself: i think it's nearly as awesome, as katawa shoujo.
though i still like it a little better than kanon just because i think the story and the characteres are very well done, i think kanon is nearly as awesome as katawa shoujo, just because the characters are really good too and the paths are so different from one another.
based on which path you choose, the storyline is a complete difference and there's no thing like a harem ending, which on the hand hand is good, but on the other hand bad as well because i mostly like all characters and i want everybody to be happy, but on the inside i obviously just want true romance and love :D

i don't know if there are too much people in the lagoon, that are into this kind of games, but if there's even one i could recommand this (beside katawa shoujo as well), it'd be a success

and besides i'm still grateful for any suggestion for a game, like one of these two :D

I have to say I don't remember if I've ever played Kanon or not. Of the VN's I have played, one of my guilty pleasures would be Chain ~ The Lost Footprints. It's fairly simple, and quite linear if I remember correctly, but it had some nice animations. Plus, I'm a sucker for detective stories too! :p

As for KS, after playing the first chapter that was released a while ago, I honestly found myself not caring at all when the full version was made available. That's not to say it's bad, I've heard good things about it, but it just wasn't my cup o' tea.

Another good "classic" VN, if you can find it, is True Love. As much as I enjoy a good story, when you start throwing in stat-based game-play and events, then you've really got my attention.

Of course my all-time favorite "VN" is... Well, I guess my avatar speaks for herself.

i was about to give Utawarerumono a try, but i decided to try it later because i'm a little wary of the equation of "date" sim + rpg = good stuff ;D
but i guess i could give it a try, after i finish snow sakura.

and about your avatar....well, maybe i'm wrong, but it reminds me of yuka otawa, but i'm not really sure about it. could be that i just miss an obvious person of a novel i already played :D
