Very strange ... I agree that the light level is not vibrantly bright, in fact it could be described as rather gloomy, but I have no problem with seeing any/everything in the image. It is supposed to be reasonably dark - it being set an a pseudo-medieval world, so no overhead fluorescents, etc.!
I'll try to bear this in mind in future and, perhaps, ramp up the illumination.

I think I'll try looking at it again this evening in a darkened room when my night vision has had a chance to settle in. I can use my big laptop to view it at almost maximum resolution but the screen is rather reflective and I get put off by seeing my own ugly mug superimposed on them

Ooh yes! The darkened room did the trick -- particularly for the Dark Elf! Mind you the whole scene is pretty good and I now agree entirely with Rastifan about the light work.

Right! Now I've indulged in the "darkened room" experience, maybe I'd better have a lie down to cool off.
