For people who wants to cheat / have a little help :
With a JS debugger (ie opera dragonfly), when it's your turn, see the result of this line :
nextConfiguration (new Array(gameConfig[1], gameConfig[2], gameConfig[3], gameConfig[4]));
You will get the new configuration.

Goodness! Calculus - we aren't all as good at logic as you are. I certainly can't do eor calculations in my head.

A slightly simpler method for us ordinary mortals is to convert the nomber of stones in each pile into binary, 001 for 1, 100 for 4 etc, put them all in a column, then make sure that there are an even number of 1's in each column after your go.

What fooled me for a bit was that you can only win when Arianne goes first. Cunning move that, Arnulf.

You can easely win without any calculation.

If you play first, no way to win.
If ArianeB play first, you simply need to have one of this configuration AFTER your playing: 00XX, 11XX or 0123. From those configuration the way to win is really easy to figure. Usualy, you can get one of those winning configurations after your second or third move.

With that, I still not win each time, but faily enough to get ArianeB quickly nacked.

Good idea, Thrain, but you can never win, if you try to get to this configuration ( a winning configuration) with the second or the third turn: please note, if you make one single mistake, you have lost already.

If you know the binary calculation, Calculus' method works.
And you have not to play it 11001 times...

Look, I can do, what calculus never can do: I can win the game in every turn! (this was made only with the old buggy version 0.65, which was repaired so that this bug never can happen)
