Don't get me wrong, there are some good stuff in it (fabulous renders, Eleanor has never been so spectacular). I don't mean the game is bad, I even think it's rather good. But for a game called Eleanor 2, which is supposed to be the sequel of one of the best LOP game, it's disappointing. Because at this state, Ele2 is very far to be as excellent as the first one is. I say at this state because I'm sure there is more to come. But to be honest, I doubt that even with additional content, the game can live up to the massive hype built over the passing months. There are too many little problems : sex scenes too tame (where are mmf, dp, gangbangs, bdsm, voyeur, blackmails, ...), stat system too complex, images cut off by stats or sex controls, some uninteresting characters (Simon), game obviously not complete.
I'm waiting for the news, and I expect an expansion or an add on very soon, Eleanor deserves that.
To sum up, as a "common" LOP Gold game, it's good, I had fun playing it. As a game starring a character like Eleanor, I expect much much better. Hope Leo can fix that soon.
I'd agree, largely.
There are a lot of strangenesses about the game which seem odd.
- Why does the moral/stamina/sex-vibe bar only go up to six?
- Why doesn't Eleanor own any sexy clothing at the beginning of the game?
- Why is Eleanor the only character giving gifts?
Eleanor seems so flat in this game compared to previous. All the characters seem charmless by comparison. In Eleanor 1, Drake at least had friends, and offered to take Eleanor on holiday to save their marriage -- but in Ele2 all he seems to do is sit in his office/hang out in the kitchen/slob out in front of the TV and sleep. Flake was a b*stard, but at least he was a fun b*stard; Marco is an asshole. Ele1 had its fair share of hard-ass women -- in Ele2, all we've got is the drippy Amelia and Celeste (whose transition from masseuse to kingpin comes way out of left field). The depth of cunning and connivance that was present in Ele1 is just ... not there.
The 30-day time limit ... I know this is common in LOP games, but there seems to be no reason for it here. In Ele1, the deadline meant something; here it's arbitrary.
It's just not as clever. What if ... oh, Drake's business was under pressure and Marco was threatening to burn it all down if he wasn't paid in 30 (or 40) days? What if Eleanor herself was imposing this deadline on Drake? What if, instead of just juggling her own stats, Drake had an 'infidelity meter' of his own--so that he's always at risk of straying? (Perhaps he's under a lot of pressure -- what if Drake visits the strip club?)
The other minor characters, too, seem to be missing out on their story arcs. It's very much all about the whambam.
In terms of the mechanics, broadly, I'm okay with them. I don't get the "6 max" limit on the bars, but I like the control of the sex scenes (though I'd like more positional variation, too).
Well, I'm rambling.
