Ok, here are the steps you should take. I must say that I took some time to reply as I wanted to test it myself:
1.- Open your Software Center (within Ubuntu) and search for
mono runtime. You should see two puppies. Install the first one.
2.- Always in Software Center search for
libmono-corlib2.0-cil and install it.
3.- Still in Software Center search for
libmono-microsoft-visualbasic8.0-cil and install it.
4.- Go to
- Code: Select all
http://www.adrift.co/download
and download the Linux version of their player to for example your Downloads folder.
5.- Extract the downloaded file to Downloads/adrift.
6.- Open your terminal and issue the following commands (one at a time):
- Code: Select all
sudo su
-
you'll be asked for your password, so type it and enter- Code: Select all
cd Downloads/adrift
cp -r * /
Don't close the terminal yet!7.- You are ready to use Adrift 5. Type the following command:
- Code: Select all
adrift
8.- Miracle! Adrift player will open. But we still have two problems left:
a)- Every time you want to play you should issue the command by terminal as "root";
b)- You'll not be able to play adrift executables (*.exe), only *.taf files.
9.- For the second problem I'm afraid I can't help. Only the author of the game can furnish you with the *.taf version.
10.- As for the first one, I can put here a solution that I don't like very much due to some possible security issues. Honestly I'm not sure if it's risky or not.
Cheers!
