No controversy, mate.
Don't take it personal, you only started some harmless fun.

Cool, it just lacks the make up artist (you know, the one covering pimples on the bum...) and that's it !

Mate, you ought to give me some tips on how you light your scenes.
What did you do for the image of the black girl on the previous page?

I work with GMod which is based on the Source engine. Games like Left 4 Dead 2 are built on that. It works differently from other 3D platforms as it is a physical sandbox playground as much as a posing program. It does not work like say your 3D Max application which is more advanced. Or at least I am told so by people using both. I work with light bulbs and directional lamps to create the light I want. The post processing in GMod is vital to this and is way to much to describe in a few words.

It is better if I set up an example scene where every light source is visible. Also I do a fair amount of light and color edit in Gimp and Photoshop.

OK thanks. I rekoned you worked with DAZ or POSER. Unfortunately, I have no clue what GMOD is.
But lightbulbs and spots can be emulated in POSER so I have to work on this.
For the stories I usually use an IBL (image based light - a kind of auto illumination) and a sun (even indoor...) plus eventually a directional to get bright pics with not much shadowy areas.
But "arty" stuff needs a more elaborate lighting:
Your pic of the black girl is the perfect example, with well balanced darker/lighter areas and even a kind of misty effect.

Hmm yes Poser works a bit differently on the light I see. I have seen some work in Poser that has literary dropped my jaw. Have been thinking of looking closer on the platform. How is the nude model assortment for Poser? The free stuff I mean.

Free ?
Hum, I don't think there's anything free, at least anything worthwhile.
That's why I stick to trustworthy textres, models, clothes, hair and so on. My poser runtime is in fact quite small.
But you can achive quite a lot if you morph the models.

I mean on GMod people like Nahka and Evil Ash which I am a beta tester for makes a lot of nude models and share them for free with the community. Same goes for props and scenery.
Money is never an issue. The collection of nude and dressed models, props and maps are enormous. Was just wondering how it works in the Poser community.

The black woman pose you referred to is one of those free models. We are a non commercial community you might say.

Rastifan? Is there any way you know of for converting GMOD stuff to work in Poser or DAZ, or vice versa?

I know there are some free models and stuff for use in DAZ or Poser and as far as I can see the GMOD community is keen to make their creativity available to anyone who wants to use it.

Very interresting!
By opposition, the DAZ/POSER community is very business orientated...

You're right, there are some free models like Victoria 4 (pic enclosed), even DAZ, the program, is free.
But as you can see, it's very basic, so at some point, you'll HAVE TO invest in some skin texture, hair, genitals, maybe clothes... unless you're prepared and competent enough to make them yourself.
Some merchants sell great products, well worth the price, so others, well...
And there are also a few sites (Most Digital Creation comes to mind) that offer great free stuff.
But as I said, you can do quite a lot with very little.
Some people like to use many different products. I prefer to use very little: most of my pics are done using 3 girl models that I trust, like and know inside out.
I just morph them - change their body shape and face features. POSER allows me to do that.

Yes there is a way to convert the models from Source. Been done so to Daz and Blender and 3D Max. Probably Poser to. But I do not know how it is done.

If it can convert to 3DMAX, probably as .3DS or .OBJ files.
Where can I find good GMOD stuff?
