Hi Lou it looks like this forum is now the home of "spammers" and very few real new members are dropping a line of introduction. Is there any thing I can do to lower this trash?

I hope he/she finally woke up and smelled the coffee.
I think we were having a very negative impact on the business.
I've seen a way of very quickly with minimal labor removing huge quantities of her/his advertising.
He/she puts up about 5 pages a day (that's 50 new residents(?) per page) of that bogus advertising... we can take a page down in about 5 minutes.
I think/hope it will become a rare occurrence when the spam hits intros again.

Thanks for the help offer.
Lou

It's true that there is a lot of spams for 3 or 4 weeks, the lagoon address seems to have been added in several bots codes.
I also delete a dozen spam every day. Fortunately, with Lou in USA and me in Europe we ensure a watch on a good part of the time slots of the day and I thank him very much for that.

If you're not a moderator you can always do what I do -- any time you spot one of the very obvious spam posts, check the warning triangle with the exclamation mark and if no one has flagged it, do it yourself! Usually it makes sense to flag it for wrongly advertising a website (second option down), because that's what these characters do along with a string of tittivating words

Ive been reporting spammers for years using that triangle sometimes I wondered if it really helped, a little frustrating when I cant delete the spammers link though !
I also go to the profile of those who just registered there discription are quite similar, gender, jobs , links
eh it just dawned on me I may be telling the spammers what not to do

Isn't it funny how they always claim the female gender?

To any and all valid prospective residents...
We want you to become active members...

Welcome, all four of you, but especially AlleyKat -- nice to meet a female of the feline purr-suasion. (Or are you really a male mongrel in disguise? I hate it when that happens!)
