Egyptian pharaohs? They were considered Gods, not humans, and Gods had incest marriages in many old religions.
Pharaohs were still human. So still incest, King Tut's parents were a brother and his sister as an example. The question is how far to look at incest. Brother sister, cousins etc. and of course, what's normal. (I do not find it normal that people kill each other, still it happens)
Examples of were it was considered normal
* Pharaohs
*Ptolemies
*Other Middle Eastern royal families
*Central Africa
*Incans
*Hawaiians (pre European or American contact)
* few hundreds years ago inbreeding among the European monarchies.
* The castes in India
You'll see a common theme here; royal (or something alike)families, to keep the lineage pure blooded. Want to hear a good story about that, read Harry Potter, pure blooded wizards making fun of impure ones.
Or some closer stories, i think it's 5-6 years ago, about that incest cult in Australia. A family of 40 living together with i think it was 5 generations of inbreeding.
Or that accidental one in 2007-2008 a couple just got married, but soon after it became clear they were brother and sister. The fun fact. They were twins separated at birth both adopted.Their marriage got annulled. Hooray for adoption secrecy, same goes for sperm donations. Anonymous
That one couple in south africa, who had been together for 5 years. Expecting their first child. They were raised separately and met in college. Just before their wedding their parents met and they came to realize they were brother and sister.
And then we could also talk about Genetic sexual attraction: Copy from wiki
Genetic sexual attraction (GSA) is incest between close relatives, such as siblings or half-siblings, a parent and offspring, or first and second cousins, who first meet as adults.
and following the word " normal" and incest. Yes it's becoming real normal in gaming/porn. Yes even in popular show and pop culture like game of thrones. So yes expect it to become more " normal" over the next 20 years.
Now my last words of wisdom i want to give is this: In 1987, geneticists studied the mitochondrial DNA of 147 people of different races and found that the DNA of all living people fall within one of two human lineages. And everyones DNA can be traced back to 1 single woman that lived 200.000 years ago. How do you like that.
