And on a few occasions did I get a chat with people who initiated incest. The reasons ranged from an easy opportunity to a moment where an experiment went too far on both sides. It's a taboo in many cultures for many reasons. The primary reason is because of the unusually high rate of mental and physical defects in the offspring. Another is because it causes confusion in what are supposed to be clear boundaries in the relationships between family members. So it's one of the biggest taboo subjects around.
The funny thing is, the more taboo something is, the more some people would be curious about it. It's like a car wreck. You'd slow down and watch with rapt fascination yet you're glad you're not the victim. What I find interesting is that some of the best 2D and 3D artwork has to deal with incest, futanaris, gigantism, etc. So it only serves to reinforce the morbid curiousity in all of us.
