GB's admission that he had "destroyed" all of his code really hammered home. With all of the TADS libraries out there, it is obvious that a lot of code can be reused - thereby speeding up the game making process.

"The Second Guest" is one of my favorites. Honestly, even though it was released incognito, I recognized him immediately.

The exact wording of Goblinboy's last post in the Aif forum is
Hi. Not sure if anyone will read this comment in a slightly old thread, but this is GoblinBoy. Just letting you know that I am alive and well and healthy etc. However, I fear I will not be returning to the AIF world. In fact, I would find it tricky even if I wanted to, since I have deleted all my resources and files to stop myself from doing so. But you can let anyone interested know that it is for personal reasons, not because of anything bad happening to me.

Cheers!

GoblinBoy

Interpret as you will, but I think personal reasons overshadowed and determined his actions. A great loss to the community...

The most important thing is that nothing bad happened him, like minterlint's situation teached one cannot be sure and I'm happy he posted.
Surely this decision had to be hard for him if he decided to delete all (i think he was referring even to his graphical resources, probably collected in years),

I sought out "O Erin" after you mentioned it, and found that I remembered much of it from several years ago. It seems a shame, but what there is of it has to be hunted down -- it's not all in one place, in fact there are three places, all incomplete in one way or another. Does anyone know where it can be found and maybe downloaded as a complete set?

http://newsletter.aifcommunity.org/inde ... rin24.html has the full set of 24 strips except the first five are blank!

http://comics.aifcommunity.org has all the strips up to and including #18

http://newsletter.aifcommunity.org/inde ... -2006.html are the monthly newsletters and only have the episodes published when the newsletters were and not the inbetween ones!

So they are all out there, but not compiled together in one easily accessed place, and I don't know who could provide permission to a willing collator.

The owner would be --3--, or in other words our beloved retired Goblinboy, so the logistics are tricky to say the least! I don't know whether Kronn knows him well enough to disturb his meditations over something he might consider trivia from his past that he has deliberately left behind.

I have read in an old conversation (beginning 2013) on aif yahoo archive that Goblinboy released another comic strip "The Haunting of Kristen" (I don't know if this was tied in some way on O' Erin).
The problem is that the link was already dead and with the retirement of Goblinboy is impossible to ask a reupload so i haven't read it (even if I was very curious).

I have played many of GoblinBoy's work - it's a shame to find out he's gone permanently . That's what I get for never bothering to interact with the communities before...
