The first Miyazaki feature to use computer graphics, and the first Studio Ghibli film to use digital coloring; the first animated feature in Japan's history to gross more than 10 billion yen at the box office and the first animated film ever to win a National Academy Award for Best Picture of the Year: Princess Mononoke.
The first Studio Ghibli film to be shot using a 100% digital process: My Neighbors the Yamadas.
The first Miyazaki feature to be shot using a 100% digital process; the first film to gross $200 million worldwide before opening in North America; the film to finally overtake Titanic at the Japanese box office, becoming the top-grossing film in the history of Japanese cinema; the only anime, non-English-speaking and traditionally animated winner, so far, of an Academy award for Best Animated Feature: Spirited Away.

I own almost everything 'made' by Hayao Miyazaki and a couple of the other works by the studio.

I agree that they are great works of art and would also recommend them to anyone of any age.

Whoa!! Greyelf impresses Hannah. It's not often a guy gets Hannah worked up without her ripping him to shreds. This could be a start of a wonderful, if not torrid, relationship.

I haven't watched anything from Studio Ghibli, but now I'm intrigued. I have Hannah's list. Is there a favorite of yours that you recommend I should watch first?

I have many favourites of his (which is why I own so many of his works <smile>) so it's hard to pick just one, and which I would pick would depending on how I'm feeling at the time.

But if I had to pick (right now) some films for someone new to his works to choose from then I would suggest the following four:
(note: because every list need an order I will use release order)

"The Castle of Cagliostro" (his first 'film' (not first animation) and where it all began)
"Kiki's Delivery Service"
"Spirited Away"
"Howl's Moving Castle"

Works of Hayao Miyazaki (wikipedia)

Had some spare time so watched 2 movies, both are worth a watch.

Tale of Tales (2015)
This is a somewhat unusual movie, but give it a watch.

Lucy (2014)
This was actually a good movie, with a great ending , I shall say no more than that :D

I have watched this movie a couple of times and have enjoyed it each time, it is original in it's general premise and Morgan Freeman appears in it (so what's not to like! <lol>)

I've not seen either of them so far but I've read the books in each case and I hope the filmic work respects both book series. Unfortunately book to film/video conversions don't have a good reputation in this respect.

I'd like to see a good TV/film take on Kim Harrison's Hollows series but I fear for how Rachel Morgan and her friends and other characters would turn out.

No one really keeps to the books anymore, they have not in years now on many major hit movies and tv series also.

One example is Enders Game, Enders Game is book 3 of 5 books, so what happened to books 1,2,4,5?

Both tv series I mentioned above are great, well worth a watch, I gave up caring weather it keeps to the books or not long time ago, because in most cases they dont.

I hate to think what they've done to the Ender's Game series -- another set of books I've read!
