That would depend on what your definition of "old trip" is.....

Also by Bono of U2 and Elton John in addition to the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album.

For those lagooners having access to 3SAT TV program: today they send non-stop live concerts (each one 45-60 minutes) for 24 hours, starting at 6:00 this morning. Currently we hear Foreigner, this morning we already had Genesis, AC/DC, Lenny Kravitz, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, David Gilmour, Eric Clapton, ZZ Top, and others.

Today there will also be concerts by Genesis, Queen, Tina Turner, and the hot chicks come after midnight: Madonna (Confessions on a dance floor), Kylie Minogue, Christina Aguilera, Rihanna, Beyoncé, and others

For details see http://www.3sat.de/musik/114346/index.html

I am really telling my age with this post. I remember watching "The Hit Parade" on NBC (The only channel we could get with an oudoor antenna - cable wasn't here yet - and getting upset when "The Unchained Melody" replaced "The Ballad of Davy Crockett" as #1 after 20 some-odd weeks. I remember seeing Elvis Presley on "The Ed Sullivan Show". It was on a Sunday evening and there were no girls under 25 in any of the churches that evening. I watched and danced to "Roy Orbison and The Wink Westerners" (later the "Teen Kings")live at dances in my home to every Friday night. He grew up and lived 25 miles away. I later got to see "Buddy Holly and The Crickets" live. Johnny Horton "Battle of New Orleans" played a homecoming street dance in front of my dad's furniture store and I got to talk to him alot during breaks.
Now for what I like: Classical music especially Beethoven, Smetana, Mozart, etc.; The Corrs; ABBA; Enya; 30's and 40's Swing Band's (Dorsey's, Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington); 50's and 60's Rock & Roll; Badfinger, The Moody Blues, 3 Dog Night, Credence Clearwater Revival, Dave Brubeck Quartet. What a helluva mix!

Psychedelic rock mostly, but a lot of hip-hop, reggae, dub, breakcore, really anything that sounds good on my regular acid trips. :)

BTW, acid rock + Sharks Lagoon games + LSD = win.

GBD & wmabie:

I am not too far behind you guys either. I remember watching "The Ed Sullivan Show" one Sunday night to see The Beatles. I remember one day in school, one of my friends was sent home because he wore a Beatles shirt.

Not to change the subject matter too much...I also remember watching on television one of the first "Color" TV shows, Bonanza. We went to a friend's house to watch it because they owned one of the first color television sets in my neighborhood. Bonanza was also shown on....Sunday night.

The Dave Clark Five, never missed them on Sullivan. Saw Herman's Hermits at the state fair.

Oh, and about everything else GBD mentioned. Especially Glenn Miller. And speaking of Miller, Sing Along With Mitch - Loved that bouncing ball!

I like all kind of music but mostly prog. I'm hooked on Gentle Giant, Alan Parsons and The Strawbs (even more so since they came to Montréal last month).
