Great stuff Joe but it feels like that needs to be an overhaul of their entire game engine into something that promotes complex tracking of variables and a longer game.

Honestly I think that's why LOP is so slow in its updates. Their engine behind the game is EXTREMELY basic. If they used something like QSP or some other pre-built engine that works with bigger games, they could really expand and quicken the rate of their releases.

We have to remember they started out doing tiny flash games with the visuals being the major focus and their current engine is just flash being stretched and stretched. Switching over to a real engine would probably work better.

Man, Joe, You've got IDEAS! I appreciate the long and well-thought-out post.

I just uncharacteristically and probably un-wisely posted on the blog that we are about 7-14 days from releasing LWT2 (unwisely because I did not ask for Leo's permission first). I'm testing the pre-alpha right now (did I make up the word pre-alpha?). I've asked for some image fixes and Leo and Yamyoda agreed. It's a complicated game, with many variables that get defined only once, early on, and then matter for a variable check only once late in the game, so debugging is very hard, and no doubt there will be small problems we missed at the time of released. But anyway, we are getting there. The hype is huge and no doubt many people will be disappointed, but I am hoping – and I think it's a reasonable hope – that twice as many people will be blown away by the variety of sexually-charged situations that occur in the game as the number of people who hate it because it could never have lived up to their expectations after such a long wait. We will see, I guess.

Just please realize, that I do rely on LWT1 for the background. That is, if you choose to play the game as though you visited the swinger's club with Tracy in the first game, then there isn't going to be any slow build-up to group sex in the sequel - Tracy has already lost her innocence; she goes for gold now. I appreciate that many people liked the build-up, and to be honest, I worked really hard on that, but I don't think it can be duplicated with the same characters in relation to the same subject in a sequel. Tracy fucked 6 men at once in LWT1, and she loved it. She's not going to need to have her hand held to do it again in the sequel. I will strive to make the build-up as intense as possible in new, original games, based on the feedback I've gotten here, but in LWT2, where Lisa and Tracy are concerned, they have already made their decisions. Having said that, I guess I realize I'm not totally accurate. You can choose that you did not cheat with Lisa in the first game, and then potentially seduce her in the second (limited options), but with Tracy, if you choose to play the game as though you did not share her in LWT1, then the swinger options are not really available on that play-through. It's too late to change that now, but as I write this I realize that it would be fun to imagine never sharing Tracy in the first game, only to decide to share her in the second... So if it's popular enough, I will try to add this element to the expansion.

I'll be here once it's released, trying to address every post.

Nah, pre-alpha is a thing, but if you're a week or two from release you're definitely far beyond the pre-alpha stage. It sounds like you're getting ready to test your release candidate for the game at this point.

Considering the last official blog entry has it stated that the game should be released this month, your new timeline seems to be indicating a potential small delay rather than a speedup. I think we all prefer hearing that now than having the expectant 31st arrive and then find out, "not yet." Either way, glad to hear you guys are getting close. Hope it's a smashing success.

Just to point out Leo's post did not say it should be released this month, it said probably, a tad vague but that was most likely the intention. Also the testing is taking longer than anticipated due to, in iksanabot's own words "The alpha-testing is taking a long time mostly because I’m so picky about details, and Leo is willing to work with me on it." This imply's iksanabot is involved right up to release which gives me confidence that the game will be a good one.

I'm going to chuck my opinion in here (wanted or not).
LwT2 sounds great. I really hope it lives up to the promise. I like the idea that selecting the different endings from the first game dictates how the game will play in the second. It''s something I thought was missing from ELE2 so good-oh.
I don't like that the game won't follow the same stat building formula as the first game. I'm not a stat building purist by any means, but I think that sequels should improve on what makes the original great, not reinvent the wheel.
I'm going to hold my tongue on LwT2 until i've played it though, I have to say the released images look incredible and i'm really looking forward to it.

On the subject of a LwT remake/expansion:
What i'd really like would be to be able to play the game from another characters prospective. To my mind it would be great if you could choose between Justin (this playthrough would just be the original game, with upgraded graphics), Tracy, Lisa and Lisa's boyfriend (who I think is called Dereck, but i'm not sure without playing the game again). Lisa is tempting to Tracy as well as Justin so that would add a new dimension (I hope the possibility of Tracy having cheated on Justin over the course of the first game is explored in LwT2 (especially if she cheated with Lisa too)), as well as this we could explore Tracy's seduction into the club, and all those events you talk about with her (fingering herself in her office etc...). With Lisa we could explore her relationship with Dereck (still not sure that's his name) and Sandy, as well as Justin of course. With Dereck there could be some fun with seeing the house from a visitors perspective as well as all the potential scenes with Lisa (and a possible seduction of Tracy too).

i like this ideas,i always had pretty much the same thoughts
it would be absolutely great if we could choose between justin,tracy,lisa and derek,but realistically it can hardly happen
i would love to play the story from lisa's perspective though and go through the events of original game,but also there could be added much more situations for her to explore like relationship with derek,friendship with sandy and even the option to seduce tracy,that would be very interesting

as i said before lwt can still offer so much so i would definitely love to see remake,hopefully the team will find the time to think about it and do it

By the way... That post has been edited, this time probably by Leo. I'm really confident about the game, though I'm not happy about the delay, I think it means they want us to play a great game.

The thing is, I've never liked how Tracy becomes "lustful" in like, a second if you do certain things. Like in the "true ending" by the pool, one of Justin's lines is "I don't like what's gotten into you", that's because it happens all of a sudden.

In the intro it says Tracy was really wild prior to having the baby so I think the intention was that the lustfullness in Tracy was reemerging and she was getting back what she had lost instead of it just appearing out of nowhere. You are right in that to the player it just seems to appear out of nowhere since by the end of the game it is very easy to forget that intro.

I love this idea. Iksanabot experimented with multiple perspectives in a free game he made called Get Me Pregnant. The game didn't get the reception he'd hoped for but I think it could work if the game was specifically designed around that premise from the ground up. It may be better to start with a new game with new characters for that reason, but the idea is great and there is no reason why the new game couldn't be heavily inspired by Living With Temptation.

What you could do is play through the game as one character and at the end of the game it generates a code or a save file. Then you can play another game as the other player, input that code or save file, and the game will import the decisions the other character made to alter the experience.
