Hosting online games

Postby MaxCarna » Fri, 17Jan06 05:13

Hi everyone,

I was doing some research in the forum, looking for suggestions of hosting sites for online games, only found suggestions for file share, like mega.

I personally think that some users have restrictions to download executables, an online game could be more diffused.

I'm using Amazon's server for the internal development, but it has slow latency, almost 0,5 seconds.

I can increase the server size at higher prices, but before that, just want to check with you guys if there is a better option.

Anyone?

it depends on the kind of game you are making, but if it's online I suppose it's Flash or HTML, right?

In this case I recommend those sites:
http://playforceone.com/ - He never answered my pleads to publish my game on his site, I don't know if he don't like me or if he is just hard to get in touch with.

http://www.newgrounds.com/ here I posted my game with no fuss and for free, and right now I'm using their servers to test my next game, since it's free too,

I used newgrounds for the three recent games I've made available for on-line play. As GDS said, it's free.

I believe the Playforceone's owner simple really like Tlaero :) Aside from Lessons of Passion he has been only publishing her games. It would be great having a game there, but I don't think I can join the club right now.

Newgrounds is an excellent idea :D I have been playing there for years, don't even think about checking their policies. I will aim them.

The game is based on HTML with a feature to auto-resize to browser's window, can be played even on cellphones. I need to check if Newground's borders can work with it, worth trying.

Thank you very much.

You can choose the borders size, so it can be almost any size as long it fits,
the only problem, is that it dont allow fullscreen, and will always need to show all the newsground site, the later can only be a problem on mobiles and game with a way too big window,

And my last game isn't working on Mobile even thought it was supposed to, Maybe my error, maybe a problem on their end, I cant figure it out.

About playforceone, they do have a lot games from people from here, even some hentai and incomplete games, But I really dont know what is needed to join their "Club", I mean my last game got about 40k unique downloads, and the newsground version was released 2 weeks ago and is at almost at 30k views.

Nice! Is NewGrounds still working well for people in 2018?

I get much less attention on Newgrounds, a release that already has 129k views on Gamingcloud has only 6k on Newgrounds.

I asked some moderator how could I have my game on the adult game list, they said that I needed to speak with someone of the administration, I spoke with two members and they simply ignored me.

You have to keep a frame, sometimes the game doesn't look so good.

I'm mainly using Netlify to host my games, they work very nice. Because I need a small portion on PHP, I'm also using Digital Ocean to host, but there I pay $5.00 a month.
