Are there some "hidden" sex scenes, or does one truly have to take all 8 paths?

I played through the game 4x and have every single achievement - aside from "Multisexual", which I don't know how I'd have missed it (unless indeed the decision whether one agrees with Is or not also influences sex scenes seen)

If I'm not wrong, there are 5 posible sex scenes right after the first date: 2 while dreaming if you play as a widower (1 with Miranda if you choose the timid path or 1 with Karen if you're agressive) and 3 if Karen cheated on you (she tells you different stories depending on your character election, plus the real sex with her which leads to the bad ending). Then you have the 4 second dates, the casino scene and the final scene. So if you really have all the other achievements and have seen all the above mentioned sex scenes, "Multisexual" should have been unlocked too. Tlaero had said earlier that you don't even need to explore every sex option available in these scenes, and I can confirm by my own experience that the back door achievement isn't required to unlock the Multisexual one

I was just wondering if you have experimented with introducing audio together with the animated scenes. It might enhance the scenes even more.

Many of my earlier games had sounds, but doing the sounds was, hands down, my least favorite part of making the game. I started a thread a while back asking what people thought about sounds in these games and it was pretty much 1/3 liked the sounds, 1/3 didn't care one way or the other, and 1/3 felt they detracted from the games. Since I didn't like doing the sounds anyway, I interpreted that as "2/3 of my players won't mind if I stop doing them." Then, when I reworked my game format to make localization easier, I removed the ability to do sounds with my engine.

I could certainly put sounds back into the engine, but I still wouldn't like doing them. So my games, including the recently re-released DwE are now silent.

I think the only way I'd go back to doing sounds is if a really good voice actress wanted to do erotic sounds for the games, and was willing to work for free. I'm not expecting that to happen, but if someone is interested, send me a private message.

Re the Multisexual achievement.

The intent of this one is that you had enough points to see each of the sex scenes in the game. If you've played through the 4 starts (the regretfully vs comfortably doesn't matter for sex scenes), had sex on the couch with Karen, done the 4 dates, the casino sex scene, and the final sex scene, you should have unlocked Multisexual. You're not required to do the multiple paths through the casino sex scene nor are you required to do anal sex. You just have to have enough points to unlock each scene and hit all of them.

Marco6661 has created a French translation for Finding Miranda. I've uploaded it to the same location as the original (link on the first page of this thread).

Thanks Marco!

Also, I wanted to say an extra thank you to both Marco and John for doing such a good job with the translations. I don't actually know whether the French and Italian words are right, since I don't speak the languages, but both files came through extremely clean with only a tiny bit of rework needed by me. Thank you for being so diligent in converting the game, you two.

Tlaero

I have all the other achievements, so I indeed did the 4 main routes, slept with Karen, did all 4 dates, and got the final sex scene (as well as getting the anal achievement, even if it's not required). My last 2 playthroughs had max points (first two missed 2pts each in the Casino), so I shouldn't have missed anything. I am very confused.. :\

What I got:
Sleepsex with Miranda / SleepBJ by Karen / MMF Karen / FFM Karen
Sex with Karen
Sex on all the dates (In lockerroom/shower/sea/her place)
Casino
Final (+Anal)

Unless I'm forgetting something, but even then I should've seen it, considering I had (near) maximum points on each of the 4 playthroughs?

I played it on PFO btw, maybe there's a bug on their site or smth :??:

@Tlaero:
C'est toujours un plaisir, Tlaero, de passer du temps sur une histoire aussi bien écrite que celle-là. C'est pour moi l'apprécier une nouvelle fois et découvrir des détails à côté desquels je passais dans la version originale.
It 's always a pleasure, Tlaero, to spend time on a story so well written as that one. It's for me appreciate it again and discover details next to which I passed in the original version.

@Mortze:
Congratulations for the graphics, both for technical part and artistic part. I like specially the expressions of Miranda's face. I'll beg your pardon concerning an exchange which we had around a detail concerning the motorcycle part. I was (as for some Lagooners around Miranda) focused on a thing which I did not like and forgotten all the rest which pleases me so much. Sorry Mr Mortze. ;)

I'm not sure. I just checked the code and confirmed that what you described should have given it to you. The only other thing I can think of is that the check to see if the achievement is done happens at the start of the credits. So if you had gone through the 4 playthroughs all the way to the credits but then went and did the "Karen on the couch" scene without going through to the end, it wouldn't have fired. It should have remembered that you did the Karen one, though, so if you've seen the credits since then, that's not it.

I don't have a way to check what's going on with your game on PF1, but if you want to download it and send me a PM, I'll tell you how to skip to the bonus scene and see it.

Sorry for the hassle.

The effect of points

I'd like to hear people's opinions on this.

In DwE, if you didn't have enough points for a sex scene, the game ended with a "you failed" page.

In RfJ, if you didn't have enough points for a sex scene, the game and story skipped the sex scene. For instance, there's a check before the blow job scene where, if your points aren't high enough, Jessica doesn't invite you up to her apartment.

In FM, if you don't have enough points for a sex scene, the game skips the scene, but the story doesn't. Lucas and Miranda still have sex, but you don't get to see it.

There are pros and cons with each of these mechanisms and I'm not entirely happy with any of them. Which did you like the best or least and why? Is there a different mechanism that you'd like to see me try instead? Although Pandora Part II is the next thing I'll be working on, I'm thinking about the mechanics of the next Tora game as well. I think I know what I want to do, but any discussion here might help. At the very least, if you want to impact the gameplay design of the next game, this is the time to do it.

With the mechanism developed for Finding Miranda, I don't see any problems because if player use correctly the quick save button, he can replay each sequence and finds without a lot of problems enough points for going farther... :p

The system that I am most used to is the one utilized in DwE where if you didn’t get enough points you are met with a “you failed” page. This seems to be the most common system used in games of this genre. In some ways, it makes sense because normally if the game and the story is to progress the characters have sex so if you don’t hit this achievement then the story ends.

To be honest I didn’t know the system was any different in FM as I always had enough points to see the scenes. In fact, on my first play through I missed a couple of points in the Casino scene and having not utilized my extra save slots well I just restarted the game instead of continuing to play with the missing 2 points.

I can’t say I have any particular preference for any specific system. Each seems valid in its own way. The FM system always the player to play through and not miss the story and makes the sex scenes like bonus content they scored high enough to unlock. The RfJ system is a bit more challenging and has the point system affect the storyline. The DwE is the most challenging as it can actually end the story and cause the player to have to start over. It all depends on how much you want the story, gameplay, and player to interact with each other.

I also can’t say that there is any system I like the least. I tend to just accept the game as it is made and presented to me. So, if a particular game uses a certain system I accept that this is how this game is played and just play the game. As long as I had fun and enjoyed the story then I am happy.

I wish I had some groundbreaking ideas to offer but I don’t really have any. If just taking the three systems you already mentioned then maybe a combination of the RfJ and DwE might be best. At first not having enough points affects the story by the characters not having sex or missing an important conversation and after a while it adds up and you fail the game completely due to the character’s relationship not being at a level where the story really can proceed.

Playing through the Icerink Date right now, I'd like to give you props for using a screen cap from the 2015 NCAA D-I Men's Hockey Tournament instead of any random NHL game. Long live college sports!

Well I think the best option would really depend on how the story plays out and the main objective of the game and the characters in it.

If the main objective is for the guy to make the girl like him, go out on a date with him and build the relationship but he hasn't been able to do that and the girl no longer wants to see him then the game should come to a natural end at that point.

However if there is another situation or story like in FM where that is not the case the story/game can progress.

So it really depends, for me the main thing is that the game should come to a 'natural end', it should not be abrupt and not just about whether you see the sex scene or not. For me that's just a bonus, even without it it's fun playing the game with its gorgeous characters.

A question about Tlaero's older game Jessica and Amy, is there a place to download the complete game, it seems the one at PF1 is incomplete.

Those games were written by Phreaky alone. The first game I worked on was originally called "Virtual Date With Keeley." We later did "Daydreaming With Keeley" and, still later, I joined the two of them together into a single game called "Meeting Keeley."
