In this fan-made visual novel (VN) by Fleet, inspired by the H. Rider Haggard adventure novel, She, private investigators Vera Blanc and Brandon Mackey accept a case to find a missing person. Their search takes them to Africa, where they encounter false trails, pirates, bandits, and a mysterious "lost kingdom" in the African interior, ruled for thousands of years by the beautiful and strangely ageless Ayesha, Queen of Kor.
Neither Vera nor Brandon, alone, can resist the mental and physical powers that Ayesha commands, to serve her own ends. At least, not without the help of you, the Player.
Prepare yourselves for high adventure, and possibly learn a few interesting things along the way.
[Watch for historical and literary references to the original novel, particularly in the names of the minor characters].
This visual novel offers seven (7) different endings, depending on the choices you, the Player, make.
[No animals or trees were harmed during the production of this VN].

Technical stuff: System requirements: A web browser that is capable of playing HTML 5. This has been tested using several browsers on a PC running Windows 7. It should run on a MAC system using Safari, Firefox, Opera and Google Chrome, and on a Linux system using Firefox, Opera and Google Chrome browsers.

You may NOT upload this to any web site without my permission.

Known issues:
1. There are screen size and save/load misalignment issues with Internet Explorer 11. While the game is playable, I recommend you use another browser.
2. On a Linux system using Chrome, you might get a blank black screen. This can be fixed by telling Chrome to allow the game to set local data.
3. Depending on your browser and browser settings, save game information may disappear when you close your browser.

Note: Rapidly clicking to skip dialog may cause the VN to crash, or skip visuals.

Converted to HTML 5 using techniques described by kexter.

Another great novel Fleet. I did want to see if there was an ending that involved Ustane and Bilalli snce the game hinted that they had been intimate.

It would also be great to see a story that involves more temptation for Vera, since most games have lots of temptation for Brandon.

Great job again.

Regarding Vera being 'tempted', somebody over at the winterwolves forum mentioned the same thing. I don't have any immediate plans to write another visual novel (this one took over two months) but I might include Vera having another romantic option if I make another Vera Blanc visual novel.

There is a problem when i try to close the game window in Vista. I don't have this problem if i run the game in XP compatibility mode.

I don't have Vista, so I can't duplicate the problem. I suggest you use the in-game close button (it's the x in a circle in the upper right corner of the game screen) to close the game.
Very respectfully,
fleet

I've downloaded the game, but after the first few panels the pictures disappear! Anything I'm doing wrong?

That's the first time that specific problem has been reported. :??:
Have you played any other visual novels that I made? Do they work okay?

Try running the game in windowed mode. If that doesn't work, try running it in Windows XP compatibility mode.
In the folder where you loaded the game there should be a file named log.txt Send me a PM with the zipped contents of the file.
What version of Windows are you using?
Are you getting any error messages? If so, what exactly do they say?
What video card or video chip do you have?

Very respectfully,
fleet

Since there was no response, I'm assuming that brownbag either found a solution or gave up.
I changed the download link in the first post.

Due to bandwidth limits at one of my host sites, I've added an additional download source to the first post.
