Don't worry ace43, it's just that the preference of most occupants of the lagoon is for hints to be as subtle as possible without overt spoilers or blatant walkthroughs unless they can be discreetly placed in the forum

I just put out a new version of the game with a bug fix and a secret code enhancement (see first post in thread).

I am working on dates 3 and 4 and have been reading the posts.

A few words regarding some of the feedback. One of the requirements I put on the game was that it begin each sequence/date with some gaming elements and when those were finished, then it would flow more like a comic book (illustrated novel). It is linear, and alas, linear it must stay for now.

I really like a lot of the suggestions I am getting and will try to incorporate as many as are within my ability to implement. I am inclined to make Date 3 fairly challenging and Date 4 a freebie (no puzzles) as a kind of reward for getting that far.

You should know that the field to write in the code is only to see, if the game is in full screen (I had to search a lot of time, maybe it is a thing of IE7 and Vista Home Premium)

I don`t know if it is my browser I`m using to play the html version or what, but I can`t even get past the first part. I check all the rooms (minus the bedroom) and get the jazz station going, I avoid the desk drawer, but all I can get to is when you stroke her hand. I can't do anything past that.

Help?

First off, (like I said in the project thread) the animations are quite slick and easily the most eye-catching feature of the game. The way the date is plotted out is also pretty cool.

My main gripe is that a lot of the time, it feels like the player is a non-participating entity. A lot of the fun stuff is the banter and dialog between the player character and Brenda, and most of those times, the player doesn't get to decide what to say. So it sometimes feels like the player is eavesdropping on a conversation between Brenda and some dude whose eyes he just happens to be looking through, rather than actually trying to woo her himself.

I think having more 'pick your dialog' sections would make the game smoother that way. The dialog wouldn't even have to be crucial in terms of game progress - just another method for the player to get under the skin of his character better.
