I write illustrated stories and post them on my website. Some of the scenes I animate. For my illustrations and animations I use DAZ Studio. The animations are .avi files viewed with Windows Media Player. When viewed they take 15 to 90 seconds to download to the viewers screen.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to speed up the download time?

Try using mpeg compression instead of avi.

On my computer all your AVI files opened in Quick Time. I think I just fixed that; however party_78.AVI only plays in Quick Time or with DivX I get a gray screen with the MS or Real Alternative media players.
Properties for party_78.AVI say 82.1MB.
I used Any Video Converter and transformed them to MPGs. Properties for party_78.MPG read 9.15MB.

I probably did it the hard way. LOL

Has anyone else had a problem with the first AVI?

Convert into flv and post the videos in a swf file (flash). It's the most practical and fastest for posting(as in "tamara and Nat" part3 by JimmyJohn).

Properties:
party_105a.AVI = 93.3MB
party_105a.MPG = 14.6MB
party_105a.FLV = 3.96MB

These too will only be here a couple of days.

I used IrfanView on .FLV file. IE? or Mozilla also work?

The divshare player worked just fine in IE6. So long as the .flv is in a flash movie, like Shark suggested, it should play just fine.

I converted all the animations in Party Time to mpeg files and uploaded them to my website. I had one avi file that took 85 seconds to load. The same file in mpeg format takes 10 seconds. Most of the other mpeg formatted files take five seconds or less.

Actually I am still working on one so it hasn't been converted yet. That's the one with the girl crawling around on the floor. I am giving the boy some facial expressions showing he is enjoying what's happening. It is taking six hours to render it. Anyway, I thank you all for your help.

@Writer;
That same converter is capable of .FLV conversions (about ΒΌ the size of MPG). I am not sure how to convert it to .SWF but if his Sharkness recommends it that is all I need.

I'm in the process of trying to do this now. I bought some software to help but have been unable to get it to run. I need an email from the company with an unlock code but it appears nobody is around on the weekend.

Thank you for the reply. You have been very receptive of late :) allow me one more suggestion. Please add an e-mail address to your profile (Shark for example). I promise I will not bury you in BS. It is just much easier to send a suggestion or report a problem and some things are best not addressed in public. I have e-mailed Shark less than 10 times in the entire time I have been here.

Squeeky, if you can see my e-mail it's because Mods have access to e-mails were as us lesser folk do not. :p

As far as I can tell, I can not see ILSWriter's either.

That said, ILSWriter does have a feedback form on his site for contacting him.

Ah! It is a pity that Aceboard does not notify to that effect. That does explain. I contacted tlaero believing her email was in public (she told me otherwise, and you have confirmed that in both your case and ILSW's).

Thank you for that.

LRM, I guess will have noted this too.

I think it is "her" and not "him"...
