I only play RAGS using 2.4.16, this game included. There are certainly some incompatibilities with the 3+ versions of RAGS games, but they tend to be things like coloring of text. So I will see the raw html identifying the color the text should be rather than the text actually changing colors. I've never found a game yet where I couldn't actually progress through the game completely normally using the latest 2.4.x version.

Are you able to view the movie clips? If so, which version of Windows Media Player are you using?

I'm using Windows MP 12 on the PC that has Rags 2 4 16. When a media file attempts to play, the media player shows up in the graphics window , but all buttons are greyed out and nothing plays.

There's only 1 movie clip I've ever had in this game, but no, it doesn't work in my rags. Also, there are a few photos in the more recent versions that don't display (not sure if they are bad references, missing images, software errors or what). I should mention that most of the photos that don't display properly cause the media player to pop up into the image display area, but the player doesn't behave quite the same for both situations (and I've run into image display problems with rags in other games enough times even when they were made in the same version of rags that I tend to ignore the issue).

That said, it isn't strictly a windows media player problem. Videos are put into a temporary storage location on the PC when rags tries to play them. I can actually play the game's video in the window's media player that exists on my computer outside of rags just fine.

(And yes, some of this is based on actual proof and some on supposition, as I don't have the files in their original form.)

Ill explain for Win10:
Click the windows icon, bottom left of screen and choose settings.
Choose Time & Language.
Additional Date, Time & Regional Settings.
Under Region choose Change Date, Time & Number Formats.
Additional Settings
Should be right there just change the "Decimal Symbol" to a , or . the . may cause game loops.

Remember to change it back for other games, PS while set to a , other rags versions other than 3.0.59 appear to not load games up (another game would only load in 3.0.59 until I changed the decimal back)

i think you got it all, unless i am missing the obvious. For the new game+, there is 1 thing so far i seen extra but there is also 1 thing pretty needed missing.

New game+ features the ability to use the camera on Sarah in quite a bit of locations. But the thing that's missing or at least i am unable to find is the mobile phone. Not available at the shop

That's been answered already in this thread, but basically

the lobby of the Uni has options to teach or be a student. May or may not require speaking to your wife upstairs at the uni first.

Also, the latest version is bugged (not sure about previous versions). If you start a new game + the Uni can be driven to from the first day of the game. Even though you can go there, you can't do any of the activities. Don't know if they ever unlock. You aren't supposed to be able to go to the Uni until after the formal party event that is held there. Until that event you can't be a student or a teacher.

Regarding teaching and fans

I don't have any clue of the fans needed. That said, fans have nothing to do with relationship with any women. Fans are based on number and size of completed books written. I want to say that completing all of the "storied" books (2 of each size), resulted in me having 100k-200k fans at a minimum. I generally have well over 1 million fans before the game ever reaches the point were the Uni unlocks.

By the way, in case you didn't realize... You must find facebook, start an account, and on the account start a professional page. Apparently the Uni doesn't care at all about how much you have written, how popular your books are, or anything else. They only care about how many different accounts have clicked on your facebook page. 1150 fans seems insanely small.

I will caveat by saying that I rarely bother adjusting my decimal/comma settings and write entire books every time I write for 2 straight hours (1 hour actually writes enough words, but fails to ever complete a book). I have no idea if the same separator affects fan growth in an odd way.

As for playing as a teacher or student, I can't say much about them. The schedule wasn't in English when I tried, and online translators couldn't make much sense of it either. So I had no idea what day to go. Making 1 single mistake ruins the entire path, and so it all becomes far too frustrating. Plus the layout of the school is more like a maze, adding to the frustration. Requires far too vigilant save organization and scumming to be enjoyable for me.

I haven't tried under 0.98.2, but under 0.98.1, it was possible to move around and do things same as if you were home. I didn't really find much to do that was helpful or productive prior to 1300 hours, at which point I walked Sarah/Pierre to the park, and returned home while they apparently returned to the vacation house. As I was more interested in trying to accomplish something with Noelle anyway (the mall return scene), I didn't worry about backing up and trying more (I think I posted about this earlier in this thread.)

BTW, how many girls, other than Cherry, can appear at the park while running? I've only seen the girls in grey and black, 1 that only yields a profile pic, and the one that can be either the front view, or then front then back views. From reading other posts, it sounds like there are at least 2 more, but didn't know if they were just random or if certain requirement(s) had to be achieved first. (If these are random, there's a VERY tiny RNG window for success, because I've done a LOT of running over a couple playthroughs and never saw anyone other than grey t-shirt, grey zippered jacket, and Cherry.)

With game+, you can also ask for a photo session.
Best way to play with this system is the following :
1. create a new standard game.
2. export variables
3. use the file generated at step 2 when creating an game+.

Otherwise, you might have issue to get the smartphone...

I did notice a workaround concerning the "Loop" that happens specifically when you've gotten Noelle to strip in the kitchen then later that day her boyfriend visits all over again. Here's what I do..

1.. visit Noelle in the bedroom when that happens to "talk platonic" to trigger the next step.
2.. Talk sexy when I can until the next trigger
3.. At 2300 after having fun with Sarah, go into the hallway and peek into the keyhole to initiate the next step
4.. VERY IMPORTANT... DO NOT TRIGGER THE SNACK SCENE.. Instead, work on your relationship value with Noelle until it is at least 360 or higher.
5.. The following morning (cannot be a weekend) at 0900 after Sarah leaves, quicksave. Take the snack in the kitchen so you trigger the scene. If it doesn't, quickload and snack again. After it is triggered, immediately head upstairs and go in and out of your master bedroom until you trigger the bedroom strip scene. Quicksave again. Do not answer the text and head downstairs. If she intercepts you to ask for money, do not click yes or no.. there's a cancel button there. Cancel it and then head to the living room. Answer the text and then head outside and trigger the garden strip scene. Enjoy!

Instead, work on your relationship with Noelle until it is at or above 360 then have the snack at 0900 then immediately head up to the master bedroom to trigger the next scene.

Each 10k book is giving about 50 fans in the current build, although this might be tied to a bug.
With using the decimal value at . income from books is way to much (making millions instead of thousands), and prior to the current build I would "cheat" write 4 small, 2 medium, 2 large books (all named books in library) in the first week then switch to the , value to avoid looping bug. This game I started with , and book income is what Id say is normal (writing time still broken with 1h per 10k pages on pc) I did not notice facebook prior to this playthrough. But seems like 100-200k followers wouldve been the same inflation on income due to that bug.

if you go to 345 then you can trigger the bedroom and garden scene, 360 will trigger the hallway.
The problem however with your work around is that strip in the kitchen scene can trigger every day, even with Sarah in the house when the relationship is high enough. It also is not the only time the loop can occur. Ive had it hit me when I was going back inside from visiting the pool area, well past where the kitchen scene first appeared.

There has to be a way to make what decimal point the system uses be irrelevant and considering it doesn't affect everything it's more then likely linked to some kind of calcing.
I'm guessing that much/all of the problem values are a result of some kind of division which causes decimals to happen in the first place. While it's probably not gonna be easy to replace those formulas with something else, there has to be some way of truncating the results just to the integral value
