If you do both actions you get the scene with both of them, if you do neither you get the text messages. I have tried every option I can think of with the phone and room objects and nothing seems to work and I also have Mari as a visible character.
I am playing with V1.1 with Rags 2.4.0.0.
If I have missed something obvious my apologies but I want to rescue Manny
